Beat the heat: Splash pads in Ontario opening for the season [Video]

With warm weather already upon us and the summer’s heat barely a month away splash pads across Durham Region are opening for the season.

Accessible splash pads at Delpark Homes Centre in Oshawa’s north end and Lakeview Park in the south are now open, with additional splash pads opening May 21.

The city’s splash pads are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Labour Day, with hours extended to dusk during heat alerts.

Eighteen of Whitby’s 19 splash pads are already open for the season (Willow Park is under repairs) and Clarington’s ten splash pads are also now open for residents to beat the heat.

Splash pads at Amberlea Park, Beachfront Park and Foxtail Green in Pickering are also open.

The four splash pads in Ajax are scheduled to open in mid-June, as are splash pads in Uxbridge (next to Uxbridge Arena) and Brock Township.
