BELLEVILLE, Ontario — The Belleville Senators clinched a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory against the Hershey Bears on Friday night at CAA Arena, with Stephen Halliday scoring the decisive goal 1:40 into sudden death.
The see-saw battle featured multiple lead changes and ended with Belleville securing the win.
Hershey initially dominated the first period, building a 3-1 lead with goals from Matt Strome, Nicky Leivermann, and Mike Vecchione. It was Leivermann’s first career AHL goal.
Belleville responded quickly, however, with Jamieson Rees and Oskar Pettersson finding the back of the net to keep the game close.
