The Senators rallied past the Bears in a thrilling game featuring lead changes, penalties and drama.

BELLEVILLE, Ontario — The Belleville Senators clinched a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory against the Hershey Bears on Friday night at CAA Arena, with Stephen Halliday scoring the decisive goal 1:40 into sudden death. 

The see-saw battle featured multiple lead changes and ended with Belleville securing the win.

Hershey initially dominated the first period, building a 3-1 lead with goals from Matt Strome, Nicky Leivermann, and Mike Vecchione. It was Leivermann’s first career AHL goal. 

Belleville responded quickly, however, with Jamieson Rees and Oskar Pettersson finding the back of the net to keep the game close.

The Senators gained momentum in the second period when Angus Crookshank scored a power-play goal, cutting Hershey’s lead to 3-2. The teams traded penalties throughout the game, with a fight between Hershey’s Dalton Smithand Belleville’s Hayden Hodgson midway through the …
