Billboard names Taylor Swift the top artist of the 21st century [Video]

(Gray News) – Taylor Swift has been named the No. 1 artist of the 21st century.

Billboard comprised a list of the top artists of the century, based on their album performances on the Billboard 200 chart and their song performances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The list looked at data from Jan. 1, 2000, through Dec. 28, 2024.

Billboard said Swift topped the list, even though she didn’t make her Billboard chart debut until July 1, 2006, with her first single “Tim McGraw.”

Since the start of the century, Swift has rung up 14 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 – the most from any female artist in history – and 12 No. 1 songs on the Hot 100.
