TULSA, Okla. — The Black Wall Street Rally returns to downtown Tulsa on Thursday.

The motorcycle rally turned block party kicks off with food and family-friendly fun.

The event brings together people from all over the country who not only get to experience black culture, but also learn more about the history of Tulsa.

FOX23 spoke with Byron Perry, event manager of the Black Wall Street Rally, about what this means to people in Greenwood.

“This is a home grown event. We are all native Tulsan’s that all basically saw the benefit and the beauty and the community, the excellence of community that was black wall street. And we wanted to show that and expand that and teach people about it and also let them experience it. It’s a feeling when you’re down on black wall street and that emanates from the history of what the area is,” said Perry.
