Blood alcohol levels ‘six times the legal limit’ leads to impaired charges for Ontario woman [Video]

A Port Hope woman was charged with impaired driving after her breathalyzer tests showed blood alcohol levels six times the legal limit.

Durham Police responded to a 911 call about a suspected impaired driver on Baseline Road near Courtice Road in the Clarington neighbourhood of Courtice at 5:20 p.m. on Friday, February 7.

Officers located the vehicle, a white Kia Sportage, and spoke to the driver, who police said showed “obvious signs of impairment.” The 43-year-old woman was arrested and provided breathalyzer results of 480 and 460 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood – six the times the limit.

The woman was charged with impaired and over 0.8 and released on an undertaking.

“If you suspect a driver is impaired,” was the message from Durham Police, “please call 911. You could save a life.”
