Body armour, weapons seized from N.S. home: RCMP [Video]

A 30-year-old man from Halifax is facing weapons charges after police executed a search warrant at a home in Chester Grant, N.S.

Lunenburg County District RCMP was called to an “unknown emergency involving a man” around 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 8.

When police arrived, an officer noticed the man was wearing what appeared to be body armour.

“The officer approached the man, but he pushed the officer back before leaving the ambulance and entering into a nearby residence. A few minutes later, the man came back outside where he was safely arrested,” reads a news release from the N.S. RCMP.

Later that evening, police executed a search warrant at a home on Grand Lake Road.

During the search, police say officers seized:

  • numerous unsecured weapons
  • a sawed-off shotgun
  • body armour
  • a ghillie suit
