A U.S. Border Patrol agent who was killed during a traffic stop in Vermont near the Canadian border was a military veteran who served on security duty at the Pentagon during the September 11 attacks, his family said.
“He was a dedicated agent who served with honor and bravery,” the family stated in a message provided to The Associated Press late Tuesday. “He had immense respect and pride for his work, truly embodying the principle of service over self.”
