A spokesperson with U.S. Customs and Border Protection has confirmed to NBC5 that a Border Patrol agent and another person were killed Monday afternoon in an incident in Coventry, Vermont.The FBI said a third person was injured and is now in custody.Essex County Senator Russ Ingalls identified the agent who was killed as David Maland.According to a statement issued Monday evening, “On January 20, A Border Patrol agent assigned to the US Border Patrol’s Swanton Sector was fatally shot in the line of duty.
