Bruins’ Jim Montgomery Reveals Troubling Matthew Poitras Update [Video]

Head coach Jim Montgomery revealed a troubling update on a Bruins forward who fans hoped would have a breakout season.

Montgomery opened his Thursday news conference by stating Matthew Poitras was day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. The 20-year-old didn’t play in Boston’s 4-1 preseason win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, and he’ll be out of the lineup for Thursday’s exhibition matchup against the Los Angeles Kings in Quebec City.

Brad Marchand exited Tuesday’s preseason win early due to an illness, and he’ll also be out of the lineup Thursday. However, Montgomery noted the team was just being precautionary with the Bruins captain.
