Buffalo National River prepares for solar eclipse [Video]

HARRISON, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will pass over parts of Mexico, the United States and Canada.

Arkansas is in the path of this eclipse, including a vast majority of Buffalo National River.

Due to the eclipse, the park is expecting a high amount of visitors during the days leading up to and after the eclipse.

If you are planning to visit Buffalo National River to view the eclipse, the park offers this advice to keep in mind when planning a trip.

  • The Tyler Bend and Dillards Ferry areas will have the most parking and some of the longest totality.
  • Allow extra time for traveling in the area and carpool if possible.
  • Keep all vehicles on maintained roadways or parking lots. Do not park on roads or block lanes of travel.
