The family friendly event, which was held at the main Butte College campus outside of Oroville, celebrated and honored Native American traditions and culture.
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — Butte College’s main campus hosted one of the region’s largest Native American celebrations. The Butte College 3rd annual big-time celebration honored Native American culture and tradition.
“You got all these different tribes in Butte County alone that represent us, and it’s pretty powerful when we can all come together,” Butte College Native American Center Supervisor Frankie Medrano said.
The family-friendly event featured speakers, special guests and a land acknowledgement from Butte College President Virginia Guleff. The celebration was not limited to Butte College students, drawing attendees from across the community.
