A Calgary man is facing charges after police seized multiple guns during searches of vehicles and homes in south Calgary.
Police launched their investigation after a pedestrian found a loaded handgun and cellphone while walking on a trail south of Canada Olympic Park in July.
Police determined the items belonged to a man who they believed was in possession of several other guns.
After months of investigation, officers executed searches on three vehicles and three homes on Oct. 29.
The homes were located in the 8000 block of Wentworth Drive S.W., 100 block of Mahogany Centre S.E. and 1100 block of Mahogany Boulevard S.E.
Police arrested the suspect and a woman associated with him inside one of the residences.
Several items were seized, including:
- a loaded Glock 26;
- a loaded SKS rifle;
- an Aero Survival rifle;
- a Keltec Sub 2000 rifle;
- a prohibited 100-round drum magazine;
- an extended, prohibited unpinned magazine;
- shoulder holsters;
- $4,950 in Canadian currency;
- cellphones;
- ammunition; and
- spent ammunition.
