Calgary weather: Mild with daytime highs around freezing [Video]

Light snow fell across portions of central and southern Alberta early Tuesday, with light and scattered flurries possible along that same narrow corridor extending from Red Deer to southwestern Saskatchewan.

Calgary sits along the western edge of this system – meaning light snow is possible earlier in the day.

Cooler air will suppress temperatures in northern Alberta Tuesday. The daytime high in Fort McMurray is forecast to hit -20 C as compared to 0 C in Calgary.

Cloud cover will inhibit melting in Calgary over the next couple of days, causing surfaces like parking lots, sidewalks and side streets to hold on to ice, creating some slippery conditions.
