Calgary woman killed in Saskatchewan highway crash [Video]

A 25-year-old woman from Calgary was killed in a crash on Highway 7, west of Rosetown, Saskatchewan on Christmas Eve.

Officers were called to the scene at around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 24, the Saskachewan RCMP said in a news release on Friday.

According to the RCMP, two semis jackknifed on the road and an SUV struck one of the semis. Other vehicles left the roadway while trying to avoid them.

The 25-year-old Calgary woman, a passenger of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been notified, according to police.

The adult male driver was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

No other significant injuries were reported to police.

Police say Highway 7 was closed during initial investigation but has since re-opened.
