The last day of school is about a month away and many Canadians are planning vacations.

Europe is a popular tourist spot and generally considered safe but it’s always a good idea to check out the latest travel advice.

Canada’s Travel Advice and Advisories page helps travellers make informed decisions and travel safely outside the country.

They analyze trends and incidents affecting international travellers, monitor world events and collect updated reports from different sources.

Many countries have updated notices on measles and COVID-19 this month. Measles has been reported in many parts of the world including Canada and Europe. The advisory suggests people speak to a healthcare provider regarding vaccination.

Here are five European countries with travel advisories:

Belgium

Risks: Threat of terrorism.

Reasons: Terrorists have carried out attacks in several European cities. In Belgium, separate attacks causing multiple deaths and injuries have taken place. Further attacks in Belgium cannot be ruled out. Further attacks elsewhere in Europe are also likely.
