Canada updated its travel advisory to the United States and other countries this week.

While still deemed safe for travel, the U.S. has additional information on protests for those thinking of heading down south.

The advisory is posted on Canada’s Travel Advice and Advisories page, which helps travellers make informed decisions and travel safely outside the country.

They analyze trends and incidents affecting international travellers, monitor world events and collect updated reports from different sources.

Here are five countries with updated travel advisories:

United States

Risks: The advisory is level green—travellers should take normal security precautions in the U.S. The next level, yellow, is exercise a high degree of caution, while level orange is avoid all unnecessary travel and red is avoid all travel (generally for countries at war).

Reasons: The advisory was updated this week to add information on demonstrations in Los Angeles and other major cities.

Anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) demonstrations have erupted across the U.S. since Friday.
