Ottawa, March 5 (Xinhua) – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with U.S.President Donald trump today in a telephone conversation focusing on commerce and fentanyl, according to local media reports.

This marks the first conversation between the two leaders since Trump initiated certain trade actions on Tuesday. The discussion, as reported by CBC News, lasted 50 minutes and centered around “commerce and fentanil.”

Potential Exemption for Car Exports
Trump has reportedly decided to grant a one-month exemption for automobiles under the Treaty between Mexico, the United States, and Canada (T-MEC), also known as USMCA in the united States and CUSMA in Canada.
