These intense fires are sending hazardous smoke toward the U.S. in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes areas Friday and throughout the weekend. The smoke will drift over to areas such as Green Bay, Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Chicago and Detroit, where air some air quality alerts are going into effect. The wildfire smoke may also spread to other areas such as the Carolinas, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
