Canada’s first artificial intelligence Bachelor of Arts program, which aims to educate students ‘beyond the code’ by developing critical thinking about machine learning applications, will launch this fall in Oshawa.
Trent University Durham GTA campus in Oshawa has launched two new degree pathways in artificial intelligence: a Bachelor of Arts in AI, the first of its kind in Canada, and a Bachelor of Science in AI, each offering a distinct approach to studying, understanding, and applying machine learning, complete with paid co-op options for added career experience
“Understanding the ethics, like how we regulate the use of AI, how to mitigate bias, how to navigate its influence on industries and governance, is just as important as knowing how to build it,” explained Trent Durham GTA Dean Dr. Wenying Feng, who is also the NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering (Ontario Region).
