Canadian Para cyclist Nathan Clement successfully defends world title in T1 road time trial [Video]

Canadian Para cyclist Nathan Clement successfully defended his world title in the men’s T1 individual time trial on Tuesday at the 2024 Para cycling road world championships in Zurich, Switzerland.

The 29-year-old from West Vancouver completed the 11.3-kilometre course in 18 minutes 48.16 seconds, just over 85 seconds faster than silver medallist Giorgio Farroni of Italy.

Aziz Atakhodjaev of Uzbekistan was third in 20:30.71.

Clement won silver in the discipline for his first career Paralympic medal earlier this month in Paris.

The 29-year-old from West Vancouver, B.C. finished second in the men’s T1-2 individual road time trial at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
