Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney vowed to “fight” against the tariffs President Trump announced during a Rose Garden speech Wednesday. In a news conference following Trump’s announcement, Carney called the tariffs a “crisis,” and said they will impact the economy negatively.

“It’s essential to act with purpose and with force, and that’s what we will do,” Carney said.

Trump announced a series of “reciprocal” tariffs on foreign countries, including a 25% tariff on all imported cars.
