Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, a member of the Liberal Party, won Monday’s election, running largely on an anti-Trump platform. The Liberal Party began the year double digits behind the opposition Conservatives, but surged ahead as President Trump began talking about making Canada the 51st American state and imposing steep tariffs on Canadian goods.
