Canadian prime minister to meet Trump in DC [Video]

WASHINGTON – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced he will meet with President Trump on Tuesday to discuss tariffs and the broader U.S.-Canada relationship.

Carney, who was sworn in as Canada’s 24th prime minister in March, said he is anticipating a “difficult but constructive conversation.”

The meeting follows recent Canadian federal elections where Carney’s Liberal Party was returned to power.

When asked about avoiding a public argument like the one between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Carney remained optimistic about the upcoming talks.
