These widespread fires are not only affecting Canada, but are also pushing smoke into parts of the United States, causing air quality issues in several regions.
You may remember Canada’s worst wildfire season in history, which it experienced just two years ago in 2023. That wildfire outbreak brought significant smoke into the U.S., including Georgia, and dropped the air quality significantly in our region. This latest round has had a more limited impact locally.
