Jahtaya O’Day Jah-Kiara Hamilton, originally from Ontario, Canada, is currently in Angelina County Jail after being detained for possession of a prohibited weapon.

An Angelina County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a woman Wednesday suspected of engaging in multi-national arms smuggling. 

Jahtaya O’Day Jah-Kiara Hamilton, originally from Ontario, Canada, is currently in the Angelina County Jail after being detained for possession of a prohibited weapon. 

Hamilton was a passenger in a Lyft ride that was pulled over for speeding. Upon the discovery of a marijuana odor within the car, the deputy searched the vehicle, finding two large bags in the trunk.

Hamilton originally claimed both bags belonged to her, but later said they belonged to her boyfriend when officers asked her to open them. She was unable to answer who her boyfriend was when questioned by police.

Upon a search, officials found 20 handguns, magazines, ammunition and a short barrel rifle. …
