Thousands of vehicles are being recalled in Canada because of a suspension issue.

Transport Canada said in a notice that certain Ford vehicles pose a risk of having a part fall off.

“On certain vehicles, the mounting flange between the external reservoirs and the rear shock absorbers may corrode and fail,” the notice said.

“If this happens, the external reservoir(s) could detach from the vehicle…. This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with Bilstein shock absorbers.”

The affected models are the 2021 to 2024 Ford Bronco.

Government figures showed 8,895 vehicles are affected in Canada.

The notice said Ford will notify vehicle owners by mail.

“The corrective actions for this recall are under development,” it said.
