Marking the end of an era in Prince Edward Island politics, Cardigan MP Lawrence MacAulay announced over the weekend that he will not seek re-election when the next federal election is held, possibly within weeks. “Lawrence,” as he’s come to be known, is the longest-serving MP in Island history, first elected in 1988.
