Careless driving truck crash into highway median leads to suspension for Brampton driver, police say [Video]

A commercial truck crash in the middle of an Ontario highway has lead to a suspension for a driver from Brampton.

The late-night collision happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday in the town of West Elgin when the OPP says a commercial vehicle crashed on Highway 401.

Police say the driver was heading westbound when they entered the centre median and crashed.

While no serious injuries were reported police say the 24-year-old truck driver from Brampton was hit with a careless driving charged.

The Brampton driver also had their license suspended for three days.

With winter weather and the holidays coming this week, police are reminding drivers to take their time and be safe on Ontario roadways.

The OPP launched its Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign last month to crack down on impaired drivers every holiday season in Ontario.
