CAYCE, S.C. — The Cayce Police Department on Wednesday introduced the newest addition to their K9 team, Fletcher, as students returned to school for the new school year.
Fletcher, a 19-month-old Labrador Retriever, and his handler, Senior SRO/K9 Daniel Green, will be one of the K9 teams working in Lexington School District Two schools.
While Fletcher is specifically trained in firearm detection, school resource officers say Fletcher’s training is more of a deterrent and preventative measure than a direct response to a specific concern or need.
