A video of Canadian Member of Parliament (MP) Chandra Arya is being circulated to claim that it shows him speaking in Kannada after announcing that he will be running for the country’s Prime Minister position.
Who shared it?: TV9 Network executive editor Nabila Jamal shared the clip with a similar claim. Along with other social media users, Business Today‘s official Facebook handle too shared it.

Is this claim true?: No, the claim is misleading. The viral speech dates back to May 2022, when Arya had spoken in Kannada (his mother tongue) in the Canadian Parliament.
