Child luring and sexual assault investigation leads to charges for Ontario man [Video]

A man from York Region has been arrested and charged with multiple child luring and sexual assault offences in connection with incidents that occurred over the past two years.

Peel Regional Police said in a news release Sunday that between June 2023 and December 2024, a man allegedly lured two young girls under the age of 16 and sexually assaulted one of them. In one of the incidents, the suspect used social media to engage with the victim.

On April 3, 2025, Ricardo Duncan, 41, of Thornhill, was arrested and charged with several criminal offences including extortion, making child pornography, indecent exposure and sexual assault.

Duncan is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to call the Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121, extension 3460.
