Chocolate bars sold in Sask. under recall due to salmonella risk [Video]

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall on a specialty chocolate bar – some of which were sold in Saskatchewan.

Certain Oasis Treasures Pistachio Dubai Chocolate bars are being recalled over possible salmonella contamination. The recall affects 340-gram bars with the best-before date of July 25, 2025.

The bars were sold online at “Showcase” stores across the country – including in Saskatchewan.

Palm Bites Canada, the manufacturer of the bar, noted that the recall affects a specific day’s production of 810 units, representing 0.0015 per cent of the product line.

The company went on to say that the potential risk was detected during routine testing.

Health Canada warns consumers that food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Children, pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems may contract serious and even deadly infections from salmonella exposure.
