The City of Reno hosted a free event to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The event took place at Wingfield Park on Sunday, May 19.

The family-friendly event included food trucks, businesses, community resources and history about Reno’s Chinatown.

There were also many performances from dance teams, a harp team, Reno Taiko Drummers and more.

“It’s great seeing community come together and it’s our honor to serve as a convener for this year’s celebration,” said Noemi Gomez Martinez, Community Relationship Manager. “The event is a fantastic way for the entire community to celebrate and learn about these cultures and contributions.”
