RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) -A hazy sky covers Western South Dakota due to wildfire smoke from Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Visibility near Mobridge and Bismarck is severely impaired, with air quality classified as very unhealthy.

In KOTA Territory, we expect relief from changing winds over the next 24 hours, with a southerly wind picking up after midnight, clearing Rapid City by 3:00 AM and Kota by midday. I hope we can keep the skies clear into Monday morning for the Aurora Borealis!
