BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – It’s April and cold air still has a home in the northern parts of the continent. At times this can drop south and bring cold air out of Canada. That will be the case on Wednesday. With clouds breaking for sunshine, temperatures will rise. However, still well below average for today with highs in the lower 50s. As high pressure builds in Wednesday night and Thursday morning, winds will go calm, the skies will be clear, and temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark for many locations. Higher valleys east of I-79 will drop into the 20s. This will lead to frost that could harm sensitive vegetation. A warming trend begins on Thursday as winds shift to (out of) the southwest.
