Colorado gray wolf dies in Rock Mountain National Park [Video]

ROCKY MOUNTAIN, Colo. (KKTV) -Colorado Parks and Wildlife confirmed a female gray wolf died on April 20.

According to wildlife officials, the death occurred in Rocky Mountain National Park.

They said this wolf is a part of the group of wolves that were moved to Colorado from British Columbia between January and March of this year.

The U.S Fish and Wildlife Service is investigating the cause of death.

According to wildlife officials, the average lifespan of a gray wolf in the Rocky Mountains is between three and four years. They said mortality levels were a part of the Colorado Wolf Restoration and Management, and they said mortality plays a role in all natural populations.
