Cooler temperatures on the way in Manitoba [Video]

After this week’s temperature rollercoaster climbed as high as 0 C by late Thursday morning in Winnipeg, be prepared for it to fall again this afternoon.

The warm front associated with a low pressure system passing to the north pushed warmer air into Manitoba yesterday and today.

By this morning, the low had made its way to the Churchill area. That means its trailing cold front will whip up northwest winds and send temperatures falling this afternoon across most of the province.

Across the north, temperatures will drop to the mid to upper minus teens. In the southwest, expect temperatures to fall to around -7 C or -8 C, and in the southeast to -5 C or -6 C.

Even with the drop, temperatures will remain well above normal for this time of year – for now.
