Acting on a tip, police in Michigan say they were able to intercept a freight truck travelling to Canada where 123 pounds of cocaine was found.
The street value of the drugs is estimated at $1.5 million.
A man from Caledon, 22-year-old Sukhraj Singh, was arrested and is facing several charges.
According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, investigators received a tip about illegal cargo heading along Interstate 94 in the western part of the state near Benton Harbor.
Yesterday (Nov. 20), with the assistance of Michigan State Police, the truck was pulled over around 8 p.m. on its way to the Canadian border. A search of the vehicle uncovered the hidden drugs.
“A large quantity of packaged cocaine was found,” said police. “A little more than 120 pounds.”
