DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Dorchester County Coroner has identified the victim of a weekend crash.

Tyler Sowder, 24, of Summerville, was pronounced dead at 12:35 a.m.

Sgt. Tyler Tidwell says a car was traveling north on US-17 alternate near Clubhouse Road at approximately 11:35 Saturday night when it ran off the road to the left, then the right, struck a ditch, overturned and hit a utility pole.

He says the driver of the 2001 GMC Yukon, now identified as Sowder, was the only one in the car at the time of the crash.
