Crown lays out how they say rapper Pat Stay was killed inside a Halifax bar – Halifax [Video]

A trial has begun in Nova Scotia Supreme Court for Adam Joseph Drake, who is accused of killing well-known Dartmouth battle rapper Pat Stay.

Stay, who was 36 at the time, was fatally stabbed outside a downtown Halifax bar in September 2022. He later died in hospital from his injuries.

Days after the incident, police arrested and charged Adam Drake with second-degree murder.

Attorney Carla Ball outlined the Crown’s version of events as the trial opened Monday afternoon. She told the jury that within two minutes of Stay arriving at the Yacht Club Social, he encountered Drake in a back corner of the bar and was stabbed in the chest.

After being stabbed, Bell says the rapper had blood pouring from his chest. He was then punched by one of the accused’s friends before he went outside and collapsed on the sidewalk.
