The 57-year-old man from Bangladesh is being held at the Federal Detention Facility in Batavia, awaiting removal proceedings.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Bangladesh citizen who admitted to being arrested and charged with murder in 2004 was taken into custody recently at the Peace Bridge.

Md-Jamilur Rahman, a 57-year-old man from Bangladesh, was denied entry into Canada on April 19, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

“During secondary inspection, the subject admitted to CBP officers that he did not reveal on his U.S. visa application that he had been arrested and charged by Bangladesh law enforcement with murder,” U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Wednesday in a statement.

“Subsequent to Rahman’s failure to disclose the murder charges on his visa application, it was determined that he committed fraud to gain entry into the United States.”

Customs and Border Protection officers processed Rahman, who was then turned over to officers with Immigration and Customs Enforcement/Enforcement …
