DAWSON CREEK –Human remains found near Grande Prairie have been identified as belonging to a Dawson Creek woman.
Sources tell CJDC TV News that the body of Megan Butler was found northwest of the city last Monday.
Police had said in the past that Butler lived a high-risk lifestyle. Alberta RCMP confirmed that her remains were found near an area where homeless individuals often camp.
An autopsy on her body took place last Wednesday in Edmonton. Authorities in Alberta are not commenting on how Butler may have died.
Grande Prairie RCMP is seeking vehicle dashcam footage from people who may have driven 116 Street between 104 and 112 avenues between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday October 21st.
