DC Police officer fires at shooting suspects [Video]

WASHINGTON — A man is in the hospital with “life-threatening injuries” on Tuesday night, after he was shot by a Metropolitan Police Department officer in what became the second time in one day that an MPD officer shot at a suspect.

“MPD is on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest,” an MPD spokesperson said at 7 p.m. 

MPD did not give any additional information, as of 8 p.m., as to what happened leading up to the second shooting. 

Both shootings were along Georgia Avenue Northwest. Roads were closed on the 3300 to 3500 blocks of Georgia Avenue, between Lamont Street and Newton Place, as of 7:15 p.m. The westbound lanes in the 500 to 600 blocks of Park Road, between Warder Street and Georgia …
