Canadian sprint star Andre De Grasse finished 0.05 seconds away from victory in the men’s 200 metres at the World Athletics Continental Tour’s Golden Grand Prix in Tokyo.
The Markham, Ont., native was held off by 23-year-old American Robert Gregory, who won with a time of 20.24 (-2.0 m/s wind) on Sunday.

Andre De Grasse of Markham, Ont., finished in second place in the men’s 200-metre race, at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix in Tokyo, with a time of 20.29 seconds. American Robert Gregory won the race with a time of 20.24 seconds.
Japan’s Shota Iizuka took third place in 20.67.
De Grasse, who won Olympic gold in the 200m in 2021, is searching for his second win in the distance this season. The 30-year-old won the event at last month’s Florida Relays before finishing fourth in his Grand Slam Track debut earlier this month …
