Ontario’s fire marshal has addressed the public concerning a recent sting of fatal fires that occured throughout the province.
This past week, several fires took place in Ontario that cost the lives of several individuals, including an Oshawa incident that took the lives of a 9-year-old, her 12-year-old sister as well and their mother.
A secondary incident, that only occured a few days earlier, also took the life of a 66-year-old woman as well as a one-year-old child in the Belleville area.
A fire that destroyed a section of downtown Bowmanville on March 6 was tragic as well, with the body of a 54-year-old woman found in the ruins.
As a result of ongoing investigations and their adjacent fatalities, Ontario Fire Marshall Jon Pegg released a statement today (March 20) discussing the province’s readiness and commitment to fire safety.
