Police have charged a Brampton man with the murder of a two-year-old child who died in an Ontario hospital more than two years ago.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers from the Bracebridge detachment responded on Jan. 5, 2023 after receiving a call about a child “who had suffered significant injuries.”
The child was two years old, according to reports, and later died in hospital.
Police now say two people have been arrested and charged in connection to the child’s death.
OPP say Tyler Phillip Whale, 24, of Brampton, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, while Justine Osborne, 33, of Gravenhurst, has been charged with failing to provide necessaries of life.
Police say the accused were arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. Both accused are scheduled to make a court appearance in Bracebridge on Friday.
