Death of Canadian tourist in Dublin city sparks safety debate in Dail as ‘utterly terrifying’ aftermath witnessed by TD [Video]

THE death of a Canadian tourist following a street attack has sparked another debate about safety in Dublin.

The Taoiseach today said he is “absolutely appalled” at the death of Neno Dolmajian.

The 41-year-old, from ­Montreal, was attacked on O’Connell Street and Cathal Brugha Street in the early hours of Sunday, June 23.

He was taken to Dublin’s Mater Hospital but died on Tuesday with his parents and sister at his bedside.

To date, four men have been arrested in connection with the incident, with two charged and appearing before the courts.
