If you braved the bitter cold for Boxing Day shopping, facing traffic delays and bustling crowds, Friday offers a small consolation. With the weather set to warm up, a bit of sunshine might just brighten your day.

Early risers hoping to catch the 7:49 a.m. sunrise might be disappointed as partly cloudy conditions may obscure the view. Ontario residents will wake up to mainly cloudy skies in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Durham, while Halton will see a mix of sun and clouds.

Wind speeds of 15 to 20 km/h will sweep across the region, bringing morning wind chills of -3 C in Halton, -5 C in Mississauga, Brampton and Durham, and -6 C in Hamilton.

Daytime highs will reach 4 C in Mississauga, Brampton and Halton, dipping slightly to 3 C in Durham, and settling at 2 C in Hamilton.
