After a stretch of frigid temperatures and snow, southern Ontario is seeing a break with above-normal warmth, though it comes with a side of heavy rain.

Early risers hoping to catch Sunday’s 7:50 a.m. sunrise might be disappointed as cloudy conditions could obscure the view.

Ontario residents will wake up to mainly cloudy skies in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, Hamilton and Durham.

There will be foggy patches dissipating in the morning while rain is anticipated to take over bringing 15 to 25 mm accumulation across the region.

Winds will strengthen to 20 km/h in Mississauga and Brampton, while Durham can expect gusts reaching 30 km/h.

Daytime highs will exceed 10 C, with Mississauga, Brampton, and Halton soaring to 12C, while Hamilton and Durham will experience slightly cooler temperatures at 11 C.
